Hidden Jobs is a small, independent Swiss job search site. This notice explains what personal data the site handles, why, and what you can do about it. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors in the EU/EEA, the GDPR.

Who is responsible

Andrew Thomas, Luzern (CH). Contact for anything about your data: privacy@hiddenjobs.ch.

What we collect

  • Every visit: our servers and hosting provider record technical request data (IP address, browser, page requested, time). We use it to run the site, keep it secure and stop abusive traffic.
  • Only if you accept analytics: Google Analytics 4 measures which pages are used, using cookies (_ga, _ga_*). If you decline or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
  • Only if you sign in: your email address, used to send the sign-in link and to keep your saved jobs, plus the list of jobs you saved.
  • Fonts: the site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google servers and they see your IP address.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data, show ads, build advertising profiles, or ask for your CV. Applying for a job happens on the employer’s own site, under the employer’s privacy notice.

Job ads and the people named in them

The jobs on this site come from employers’ own public job ads. Some ads name a contact person and give their work email or phone number. We show the ad so job seekers can find the job, which is our legitimate interest, and we link to the employer’s own page to apply.

We hide personal email addresses and all phone numbers in ads automatically. Shared role addresses such as jobs@ or hr@ stay visible. A person’s name and job title can still appear in the ad text.

When the employer takes the ad down, it disappears from this site at our next refresh, usually within a day.

If you are named in an ad and want your details removed or corrected, or you are an employer and want a job removed or corrected, email privacy@hiddenjobs.ch. We act on it within a few working days.

Where it is processed

Google Cloud / Firebase (hosting, servers in Zurich, saved-jobs database in Zurich, sign-in accounts), Google Analytics (with consent), and MailerSend (sign-in emails, EU). Google may process data in the United States; transfers rely on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Server request logs: about 30 days.
  • Analytics data: 2 months in Google Analytics, then deleted.
  • Account and saved jobs: until you ask us to delete them.

Cookies and local storage

Without your consent we only store what the site needs to work: your analytics choice, your language preference, and, if you sign in, your session. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept, and you can change your mind at any time with the button below or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, receive a copy, or object to its use. Email privacy@hiddenjobs.ch. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
