Zurich HQ FullTime

About us:

Founded by former Google search engineers with PhDs in AI from ETH Zurich, DeepJudge helps legal teams unlock and apply the knowledge inside their organizations through world-class enterprise search and AI infrastructure – enabling them to automate workflows, build knowledge-powered applications, and turn institutional knowledge into a lasting advantage.

Every organization can license the same AI models, but no two organizations share the same institutional knowledge. Decades of experience, work product, and precedent are often fragmented across systems, underused, and inaccessible. DeepJudge makes this expertise instantly available and actionable – helping legal teams find the right information faster, surface relevant knowledge, and apply it where it matters most.

Our platform is trusted by many of the world’s leading law firms and legal teams, including Holland & Knight, Gunderson Dettmer, Cozen O’Connor, ArentFox Schiff, CMS Switzerland, Schoenherr, and others.

Headquartered in Switzerland with a growing team across North America and Europe, DeepJudge is shaping the future of how professional knowledge is discovered and applied.

At DeepJudge, we move with urgency, think rigorously, and work closely with our clients to build products that solve meaningful problems. If you want to help define how AI transforms professional knowledge work, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role:

We're looking for a Production Engineer to help run and continuously evolve DeepJudge in production. You’ll provide incident support and build tooling, automation, and observability to keep our platform reliable and make sure inconsistencies are caught before they reach our customers.

You'll become an expert in how our systems behave under real customer workloads, using that knowledge to simplify architectures, improve reliability, and make our platform easier to operate. In doing so, you’ll play a key role in shaping the technical foundations that enable DeepJudge to scale efficiently as our customers, data, and product continue to grow.

If you enjoy solving complex distributed systems challenges, building reliable infrastructure, automating operations at scale, and continuously improving production systems, you'll thrive in this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead technical response to production incidents by driving investigations, coordinating resolution across engineering teams, while maintaining clear communication throughout

  • Investigate root causes beyond immediate fixes, turning operational learnings into lasting improvements that strengthen the reliability and resilience of our platform

  • Build automation, internal tooling, and operational workflows that improve engineering productivity, deployment safety, and the efficiency of operating DeepJudge at scale

  • Partner with product engineers to improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of new features before they reach production

  • Help shape engineering best practices around reliability, testing, deployments, observability, and production operations as our platform and engineering organization continue to grow

You're a great fit if you:

  • Have 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Production Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role operating production systems at scale

  • Stay calm under pressure and can lead technical incident response while communicating clearly and collaborating effectively across engineering teams.

  • Enjoy debugging complex problems across application code, Kubernetes, networking, databases, and cloud infrastructure, and are motivated by understanding systems end-to-end

  • Have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, Linux, cloud platforms, and modern observability tooling, and know how to operate reliable production systems

  • Are comfortable writing software in languages such as Go, Python, Rust, Java, or TypeScript

What you can look forward to:

  • Working across the full stack, from distributed infrastructure and Kubernetes to AI systems and customer-facing applications

  • Solving technically challenging production problems while building the tools and infrastructure that make the entire engineering team more effective

  • Location: Office 5min walking distance from Zurich central station, where we primarily work on site

  • A collaborative and fast-paced engineering culture

  • A competitive compensation and equity package

At DeepJudge, we believe great teams are built on diverse perspectives and experiences. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone can thrive. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

If this role excites you, but you feel you don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway and tell us why you’d be a great fit.
