  • Take ownership of detailed underwriting analyses for Energy accounts, including risk engineering exposures, terms and conditions, pricing, and capacity deployment.
  • Assess key risk exposures, normal loss expectancies, and maximum possible loss scenarios to support sound underwriting decisions.
  • Evaluate and actively manage accumulations, including natural catastrophe exposures, with a strong focus on portfolio quality.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients, building sustainable solutions that balance client needs with long-term profitability.
  • Ensure underwriting decisions are fully aligned with Helvetia Group directives and governance standards.
  • Build and deepen your knowledge of the Energy client and broker network, strengthening trusted relationships across the market.
  • Represent Helvetia at national and international client and broker meetings, site inspections, and selected industry events.
  • Contribute to a motivated, agile, and ambitious team that values collaboration, expertise, and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Work closely with our claims experts on large and complex claims, ensuring a holistic view of risks and client solutions.
  • A university degree, ideally in engineering, natural sciences, business, or a related field; an additional commercial qualification such as an MBA would be an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in Energy underwriting or hands-on expertise from the Energy industry
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a confident approach to negotiation, client engagement, and business development.
  • Sound business acumen and a good understanding of Energy insurance markets, trends, and client needs.
  • A proactive mindset, genuine passion for tackling complex challenges, and the ambition to deliver high-quality results.
  • The ability to build trusted partnerships across teams and departments and to collaborate effectively towards shared goals.
  • A positive, flexible, and team-oriented personality with the ability to thrive in an international and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent English skills; German language skills are highly preferred.
