Fully funded 2 PhD positions (100%) in the SNSF project SouthIce
As a PhD candidate in SouthIce, you will conduct fieldwork in the southern Alpine foreland, including geomorphological mapping, stratigraphic logging, and sample collection. You will investigate glacial and glaciofluvial deposits using sedimentological and stratigraphic methods and help establish a numerical chronology using geochronological methods such as cosmogenic nuclide burial dating, luminescence dating, and/or paleomagnetic analysis. You will process and interpret samples and datasets, collaborate closely with an international network of researchers, present your results at conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Depending on your profile and final assignment, your work may focus more strongly on one of the two PhD tracks:
We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups. International collaboration; Training and development opportunities;
Flexible working environment
