Deployment Engineer Intern

Verified·1 day ago
Zurich Junior · FullTime

Flink Robotics is a fast-paced startup, out of ETH Zurich's Computational Robotics Lab, building autonomous robots that can handle any item - including ones they've never seen before. We're revolutionising material handling, from stacking boxes to sorting parcels and unloading goods.

We’re looking for a hands-on Deployment Engineer Intern who loves debugging and stress-testing, ready to help install robots that move the world’s parcels. From day one, you'll be out with our field team at customer sites, ensuring every system is rigorously tested, commissioned and continuously improved.

We are looking for people who can join in the next two months to be part of a wave of deployments coming in fall.

Who you are

  • Eager to join a VC-backed startup and take on real responsibility from the start

  • Passionate about robotics: from mechanics and electronics to computer vision and control

  • Proactive, curious and a clear communicator (fluent English, German is a strong plus)

  • Ready to travel 50-100% to customer sites and adapt to different teams and fast-changing environments on the shop floor

What you bring

  • A degree (completed or in progress) in mechatronics, mechanical engineering (design / manufacturing focus) or electrical / electronics engineering

  • First experiences in commissioning complex electromechanical or robotic systems in the field

  • Strong hardware / software troubleshooting skills and stakeholder experience across technical and operational levels

  • Bonus: prior robot deployments, personal/academic robotics projects, CAD exposure (SolidWorks/Inventor/Fusion 360) and basic GD&T, extra languages, driver's license, familiarity with Linux

What you'll do

  • Support assembly, configuration and tests of our robots in the lab and on-site

  • Help plan and execute on-site installations for a smooth customer handover

  • Tune perception and motion modules in production

  • Train operators and provide hands-on support during ramp-up, gather insights for our product roadmap

  • Diagnose and fix hardware/software issues remotely and on-site

  • Represent Flink at customer demos, pilots and trade shows

  • Feed field data back to engineering to unlock new use cases

Why join

  • An ambitious team building a product with huge potential

  • Cutting-edge robotics problems

  • Competitive salary and top-tier gear

  • Based in Zurich, with travel to partners worldwide
