Communication Officer

UniBE is multifaceted.

Based at the University of Bern, the Communication Officer will work in close collaboration with her/his counterpart at the ETHZ, as well as all members of the CLIM+ management centre at UNIBE and ETHZ, the Directors, and all researchers of the consortium (Professors, Postdocs, PhDs).
Your main responsibilities will include:

• Contribution to the development and implementation of the general NCCR CLIM+ communication strategy.
• Strategic planning and production of high-quality content (text, multimedia) for external communications.
• Support interdisciplinary research projects with their communication.
• Manage Website content, as well as social media (LinkedIn, Bluesky, etc.) and a newsletter.
• Ownership and further development of visual (corporate) identity and material.
• Setting-up and management of internal communication channels (MS Teams and other platforms).
• Initiate, lead or coordinate complex communication projects, including the organisation of events and conferences.
• Liaise with the University of Bern's Communication & Marketing Department (AKM) or third parties such as the Swiss media landscape and other outreach institutions.

We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic individual with experience in science and corporate communication. An experience with multimedia (images/graphics, video, audio) would be an advantage. Knowledge of internal communication solutions (e.g. MS Teams), Website content management systems (CMS), Design software (e.g. InDesign), and other communication tools are highly desired. You enjoy working independently, taking on responsibility and coming up with creative ideas. You are native German speaker or have excellent German skills, as well as fluent English and French in writing and speaking. Italian is also a plus. You know the Swiss media and journalism landscape.
